Child & Adolescent Psychotherapeutic Counselling

I am a specialist children & young persons psychotherapeutic counsellor who works with clients from the age of 3 years upwards. With over 14 years of experience working with children and young people across a variety of contexts, I provide support for a wide range of difficulties.

How I work

I am a conscientious and compassionate therapist who will provide you, your son or your daughter with a consistent and non-judgemental therapeutic space in which troubling experiences, thoughts, feelings and choices can safely be explored.

This exploration can be through talking, by working with creative arts materials or both. Creative materials (such as paints, clay and sand) are provided as an alternative means of self-expression to talking and are used predominantly, but not exclusively, by younger clients. It is always the client's choice about what gets explored and how things get explored during each session.

My role is to support each client through their unique explorations whilst helping a greater self-awareness and understanding to develop. In this way, new solutions can be found to, sometimes very long-standing, problems.

For very young clients, much therapeutic work will be achieved almost entirely through play.
